Eighteen years ago, the Animator International Animated Film Festival started out as an event for enthusiasts. Today, it stands as one of Central and Eastern Europe's foremost festivals dedicated to this art form, and one of the few events in Poland whose competition serves as a qualifying pathway to an Academy Award (Oscar) nomination for its winners. This year's edition is scheduled to run from 4 to 12 July. The festival stays true to its guiding principle that animation should not be viewed simply as a genre or technique, but as a distinct way of telling stories about the world.

As it does every summer, the much-loved Old Town Organ Concerts return to Poznań.

Malta Festival is one of the most important cultural events in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe. In 1956, Poznań remained a bleak ruin of a city, still struggling to recover from the devastation of World War II. Thousands of families enduring harsh conditions became increasingly frustrated and weary.

Three venues, four days and dozens of events, all with the ukulele at centre stage. Cały Poznań Ukulele - the biggest free festival devoted to this cheerful instrument - returns to Poznań from 4 to 7 June. Sadly, this will be its final edition.

For the seventh time, the 23rd Millennium Docs Against Gravity festival will come to Poznań with screenings to be held at the Muza Cinema (Kino Muza). Between 8 and 17 May, viewers can enjoy outstanding documentary films from across the globe in the cinema, and from 19 May to 1 June, from the comfort of their homes.

Poznań's splendid museums, art-laden galleries, vibrant cultural institutions, along with fascinating but normally inaccessible public buildings, will open to visitors on this one exceptional night in the year - Museum Night. On the evening of 16 May, close to eighty Poznań institutions will throw their doors open to visitors.

The Art Collection of Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznan (UAP) comprises works of art gifted to the University by the artists teaching there, their inheritors as well as the graduates.
