Niechęć All-In

2Progi has put together a fresh and uniquely thrilling concert series this autumn and winter. Dubbed All-in 2 Jazz, it features acclaimed young performers with roots in jazz, who explore and fuse their sound with a variety of other musical styles and genres. Their work regularly reaches broad audiences, including fans of independent and experimental music in all its forms.
The series kicks off on the third Friday of October with the emblematic contemporary neo-jazz group Niechęć. Subsequent acts include Quantum Trio on 7 November, Błoto, an alternative project by members of EABS on 22 November, and the compelling Tri-City band Nene Heroine on 7 February.
Where did the series get its name? It is intentional. According to the organisers, the "All-In" stands for full dedication to music, while also referencing the history of the venue. Just a few years ago, the building that now houses one of Poznań's most vibrant music spaces was a casino. Today, however, it is all about music, including modern jazz.
At the October opening, Niechęć will promote their latest and highly successful album Reckless Things. With well over a decade on the scene and five major releases to their name, the group presents a fresh approach, not just because of a line-up change. Their latest tracks are inspired by "a wide range of trance electronic music, from IDM and techno to the full spectrum of UK bass". Alongside traditional jazz instruments, they now incorporate laptops and synthesisers. Thematically, the band continues exploring transhumanist ideas: the dream of a longer, and above all, more beautiful existence. Their concerts feature selections from the new album as well as older material.
