A key aspect of Malta Festival is its strong social and inclusive character. The festival is not confined to closed venues. It enters streets, squares, and public spaces, engaging a broad audience and transforming the city into a dynamic artistic stage.

As part of the festival in Poland, artists such as Róisín Murphy, Damon Albarn, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and ANOHNI and the Johnsons have performed. Over the years, Malta Festival has highlighted milestones on the map of European performing arts, including works by Romeo Castellucci, Needcompany, Pippo Delbono, Gisèle Vienne, Lina Lapelytė, Vaiva Grainytė and Rugilė Barzdžiukaitė, as well as El Conde de Torrefiel.

Malta Festival is also a space for reflection on contemporary issues, from ecological challenges to social and political questions, often viewed through a global lens. The festival consistently champions diversity and promotes values such as community and equality. In 2024, under the patronage of Dominika Kulczyk, the festival was reborn with new, female-led energy and continues to grow in new directions, inviting the most compelling cultural phenomena from around the world to Poznań.
