The tradition of holding a colourful parade on 11 November (which is the nameday of Marcin) was established in 1994 by the Zamek (Castle) Cultural Centre.
It provides an opportunity not only to hold a large cultural picnic but also to joyfully celebrate the national Independence Day, which coincides with that date. Symbols of the parade include a figure of Saint Martin mounted on a white horse and Saint Martin's croissant: a specialty of local confectioners who carefully guard its unique recipe.
