Exhibition: The Borderlands of Europe - from the treasury of the Lviv Historical Museum
The exhibition tells the story of the confluence of three continents - Europe, Asia, and Africa. The starting point is Lviv - a city of diverse cultures, religions, and traditions, described by the director of the Lviv Historical Museum as a meeting place for Europe and Asia.
The exhibition demonstrates how, over the millennia, diverse models of life, art, and spirituality have intertwined, creating a shared heritage in the region known as the "Borderlands of Europe."
Most of the exhibits come from former private collections, once belonging to distinguished families and Polish and Ukrainian institutions. Their presentation in Poland also serves as a way to protect collections threatened by war.
