30.08 – 31.08.2025
various locations in Poznań
Wstęp wolny
Description

Poznań Fortress Days take place on the last full weekend of August. They are an event promoting the history of Poznań and its military heritage.
The biggest attraction of Poznań Fortress Days are the 19th-century forts. Residents and tourists will be able to see forts such as Forts Va, VI, VII, and others. Among them are relics of the largest Fort, Winiary, now simply called the Citadel. It served its military purpose only once - during the Battle of Poznań in early 1945. Today, it is a vast park. The site is also home to the Armament Museum, displaying a collection of World War II weapons, among other things, and the "Poznań" Army Museum, commemorating the events of September 1939, the 80th anniversary of which falls this year.
Other sites related to the history of World War II will also be featured. Visitors will be able to visit air-raid shelters, as well as the bunker of Arthur Greiser, the governor of the so-called "Warta Country" (Kraj Warty), located in the basement of the villa on ul. Berwińskiego.
