The festival programme will consist of premieres, performances, workshops and debates. On April 23rd Quorum Dance Company (Greece) will perform "Gate 57", exploring the theme of liminality and travel between realities. On April 24th we'll see the Polish premiere of "Ophélie" by Propagande C (France), and on April 25th, the dancers of this group will also lead masterclass workshops.
On April 25th, Mateusz Adamczyk (Poland) will present the performance "MoveGenius", exploring the relationship between movement and artificial intelligence. On the night of April 25th to 26th, "Nocne Stany Kinetyczne #transsonika" will take place, integrating the art of dance with experimental sound and multimedia.
On April 26th, the Holobiont collective (Poland) will invite the last viewers to participate in the performance "Mój Ogon i ja" and the workshops "W ogonku", introducing children to the relationship between movement and nature.
On April 27, the International Conference of the Polish Dance Theatre Conference "Man - Technology" will for the first time take on its formula, during which invited guests will debate the term of teaching and performance in the context of a technological tool. On April 28, the programme will be joined by the interactive performance "Body Algorithm", taking place also as part of the Poznań Music Spring Festival.
A special event will be the world premiere of the performance "MONOLIT" choreographed by Rainer Behr (Germany), a member of the legendary Tanztheater Wuppertal by Pina Bausch, who in his new performance explores the tensions between the organic and synthetic dimensions of humanity. The "Monolith" show will take place on April 28 and 29, closing the festival, preceded by the traditional "National Dance" - a universal polonaise action in urban space.
On April 29, on International Dance Day, we will traditionally announce the edition of the International Competition "1 page - 1 look - 180 seconds". The theme of the competition will refer to the festival's guiding idiom, introducing participants to reflect on the role of technology in the art of movement and presented through new forms of dance narrative.
The 5th International Dance Theatre Festival "Borders of Nature - Borders of Culture" is an invitation to reflect on how technology redefines our corporeality, how contemporary dance enters into dialogue with algorithms, and the body becomes a space at the interface of nature and technology of evolution.
