Czapski was a student of Pankiewicz, yet he did not remain his imitator. It is precisely this tension-between the lessons he received and the need to discover his own voice-that lies at the heart of the exhibition.
The exhibition features over 20 paintings by Józef Czapski and Józef Pankiewicz, drawn from the collections of the National Museum in Poznań, the Gallery of Modern Art in Bydgoszcz, and various private collections.
