Description

Impressions - emotions and feelings that connect every sensitive person with the legacy of past generations and the culture that surrounds us. During a unique poetry and music gathering as part of the Czech Culture Days celebrations in Poznań, Marzena Ewa Krajewska, who is not only a poet but also a diplomat, Slavist, and Bohemian scholar, will present her poems, written in or connected with Prague. This is also true of her professional and diplomatic life. "Although I specialize primarily in the area of bilateral political relations in Europe, culture holds an important place. It is their best showcase and quintessence," says the poet, who will present her bilingual Polish-Czech poetry collection, "Wiersze wyszeptané do ucha - Básně šeptané do ucha" (Dauphin Publishing House, Prague 2023). The poem "Imaginarium," written by the poet after Russia's aggression against Ukraine, will also be performed.
Another artistic highlight of the meeting will be musical improvisations by composer and multi-instrumentalist Grzech Piotrowski. One of Poland's most talented jazz saxophonists, producer and author of jazz symphonies ("Lech, Czech and Rus," "Stu"), will present his works at the Raczyński Library.
Photographic exhibition "My Czech Impressions. Prague - an Imagined City":
This exhibition of 30 photographs will showcase a city that truly needs no introduction in Poland. Most Poles have visited and fallen in love with this city. Almost everyone has their own idea of Golden Prague. Many writers and poets have written about the undeniable Genius Loci of royal Prague, and the city of a hundred spires has inspired painters and photographers. Marzena Krajewska will depict Prague, a city close to her heart, in her photographic representations. "A camera requires stopping for each frame. Looking through the viewfinder, I see a stream of light focusing my attention on the many elements that create the unforgettable mosaic of this fascinating city," the author emphasizes.
