Photography exhibition: Lehengo Hazparne - the Great Basque Wedding by Alexandre Garacotche
Lehengo Hazparne (transl. Hasparren - like in the old days) is a celebration held every two years in August in Hasparren, a town surrounded by fields and pastures in the French Basque Country. Its aim is to recreate a traditional Basque wedding from 1900 and the festive atmosphere of the wedding day.
Alexandre Garacotche - Basque audiovisual creator, cameraman, documentarian, portrait photographer, independent teacher (collaborates with, among others, the Institut de Formation en Communication et Analyse Financière). He settled in Hasparren after marrying a resident of the town. Taking portraits during Lehengo Hazparne was for him a gateway to acceptance by the locals.
