Even though Peter Barnes set the plot of his comedy in the fourteenth-century France during and after the plague epidemic, it is difficult to find a better text for today's times. Jan Klata's production plays with the exuberant form of drama, uses all the nuances of Stanisław Barańczak's translation, hits the spot with a thesis that only laughter can save us.
