MY MUSIC #78: Fryderyk Szulgit - PLONDRA

2020-01-10 ( Friday )
CK Zamek (ZAMEK Culture Centre in Poznań), ul. Święty Marcin 80/82, Poznań

This is a premiere audiovisual show spanning the material from the upcoming album of the group, combining improvisation, free jazz, post rock, noise and ambient with visualizations on top.

PLONDRA are a young band from Poznań, formed to give real shape to a musical vision drawing on the notion of plunderphonics, which in its original version means music created by processing existing recordings to yield a kind of collage. Plondra's concept is to exploit the means of expression and sound which go way beyond what one calls jazz, and to produce an impression, a mood, to stimulate emotions and open up a space for unconstrained improvisation.

Plondra live fuses the approach and the ease of the 1960s free jazz scene, the austere sound and expression of grunge rock with elements of noise, ambient and drone.
